Format:
Team’s Competition
Conditions:
1. See General Conditions.
2. The competition will be conducted in both postal and head to head conditions.
3. Postal Competitions: schools must nominate their lifters on the day prior to the date of the competition and results must be remitted to the VWA Competition Secretary on the Friday following the date of the competition.
4. Competitors compete as a team. The following bodyweight categories apply:
Girls: 40kg; 44kg; 53kg; 58kg; 63kg; 69kg; 75kg; 75kg +.
Boys: 47kg; 51kg; 56kg; 62kg; 69kg; 77kg; 85kg; 94kg; 105kg; 105kg +
5. The correct attire for weightlifting is a lifting suit. Shorts and tope in the school colours are acceptable provided they are close fitting with elbows and knees exposed. No jewellery is allowed. Substantial shoes (weightlifting shoes or street shoes) are preferable but gym shoes may be worn.
6. Competition format:
• School teams have a maximum of six lifters. A maximum of two team members may compete in any bodyweight category.
• Lifters in the boy’s teams must not have achieved the schools leaguer standard in any VWA sanctioned event. There is no school league standard for female lifters.

NOTE: If the league standard is achieved during a round of the competition, the Lifter’s total for that round of the competition will be accepted. The lifter will not be permitted to compete in any further round of the competition in any bodyweight category.
• Placing’s in each category are determined by the Total of the best successful Snatch and Clean and Jerk. Where lifters successfully attain the same Total, the winner will be the lifter with the lightest bodyweight. Where lifters successfully attain the same Total and are the same bodyweight the lifter to achieve the total first will be the winner.
• Competitors must successfully complete at lease one Snatch and one Clean and Jerk to have their total count toward the team score.
• Team points are allocated as follows:

15th place onwards = 1 point.
• The highest scoring competitor (both male and female) as determined by the Sinclair Formula, shall also receive and award.

• At the completion of all rounds the top six schools will be invited to compete
in the Sport and Recreation Victoria Cup
