Working with Children Act 2005

The Victorian Government has introduced a new checking system that will affect many adults who work or volunteer with children (under 18 years of age)

The WWC helps to protect children from sexual or physical harm by checking a person's criminal history for serious sexual, seriouis bviolence or serious drug offences and findings from certain professional disciplinary bodies such as the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

The WWC features ongoing monitoring of criminal records of those who hold a WWC check card.

VWA affiliated coaches and referees will be required to have completed a a working with children subsequent to the 1st July 2008.

Working with Children Check application forms are available from the VWA Executive Director.
